Talking up a storm

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

Immigration is a problem, you know this and I know this, it's even starting to percolate up to the levels of government ministers that there's a problem. The one thing they wont admit though is that currently they can't do anything about the problem except talk about it as that's not illegal (yet)
Express.
MIGRANTS ROB YOUNG BRITONS OF JOBS
IMMIGRANTS have taken 289,000 jobs in the last year while one in five young Britons is now out of work, shocking figures revealed last night.
British-born workers are swelling the dole queue as unemployment has soared to 2.49 million, according to employment statistics.
An astonishing 20 per cent of those aged under 24 are signing on, raising concerns about the Government’s drive to curb mass immigration.
But overseas-born workers have enjoyed a jobs boom and a record 4.15 million are now living in Britain. And fears that British-born workers are being squeezed out of the jobs market have been heightened after the influx of migrant workers in the last year outstripped the 241,000 new jobs that were created.
Sir Andrew Green, of the think-tank MigrationWatch, said: “We need to face up to the facts of the impact that immigration is having on the prospects for British workers.
“It is no good academics repeating time and time again that there is no strong evidence; it is perfectly clear that the employment of immigrants is increasing while the employment of British-born workers is decreasing.
The article as usual skirts around various factors as to why economic migration is a problem here simply falling back on partially blaming the last government (true) and the Lib Dems on border controls (true) and does mention reform of the benefits system which does encourage people not to take low paid work.
It fails however to mention the elephant in the room that is the EU other than the government implementing transitional controls over new members because even at government levels they realise the implications for them of 40 million Turks coming here.
EU rules on freedom of movement of labour though mean that the government can actually do damn all about economic migration from within the EU. If a migrant can reach the EU, get an EU passport (available on condition you don't stay here from several EU states) then they can come here and work for peanuts by our standards but still share a flat with 20 other people and live cheaply and send money home to the family plus if you have kids then child benefit too. From a migrants point of view, what's not to like?
Ok, step 1) we have to leave the EU, without that other measures will fail.
Step 2) No immigrant gets benefits of any kind unless they've paid by taxation a minimum amount equivalent to 10 years taxation at minimum wage levels. More qualified they are, easier it is to get into the safety net by way of higher paid jobs. You bring your family here then same rules apply, no house, no health benefits, no income support. You pay your way or you leave.
Step 3) Reform our benefits system so that if you don't have a job or kids under 18 you don't get benefits like income support or housing benefit unless there is no work in the area.you can do, also get rid of the minimum wage too and use some of the money you save on benefits to pay into an apprenticeship scheme for our kids to get trades.
Step 4) Having a kid does not get you a house or a bump up on the housing market, the kid gets benefits, not you. Also child support stops after the second child, you want more, you better have the means to support them.
Exceptions would be sickness and invalidity benefits, but you'd better be sick or an invalid...
Unless we make work something you have to do to get benefits (sliding scale or universal it matters not) then because it's more economic not to work people wont. If you have to have a job even if it's only £1 an hour but you get benefits then people will work, if you don't work, you get nothing.
Yes I know there might be exceptions and fine tuning, but we have to do something to make people get a work ethic.

This is what multiculturalism ends up as.
This is what diversity will get you.
This is what happens when you go soft on minorities because of the above.
This is what lowering standards to get minorities into positions of authority (aka tokenism) brings you.
This is what failure to assure excellence in our education system has brought us too.
This is the price we now have to pay for the failure of the political classes, socialists and the MSM to listen to the concerns of the ordinary people of England.
Our cities burn, minorities riot, the followers of a foreign and malignant fascistic political system dressed in the trappings of a religion have been allowed to settle in numbers in some of our cities and demand their own laws. The indigenous population have been derided by politicians as being bigoted to even question it. When they marched in protest they were called Nazi's, scum, vermin, knuckle draggers, right wing and racist, yet it was not they who rioted.
And when the dust settles, the cover up will begin, those who burned our cities and attacked our police and ordinary folk will claim victim status yet again, it's already happening on the BBC as excuse after excuse is trotted out about cuts and police brutality by so called community leaders. The usual soundbite fools like Ken Livingstone are being dragged out too to try and put a political slant on the mindless looting by trying to blame the current government for a mess of the previous governments making.
There have even been attempts by some on the left to draw parallels with violence exhibited at EDL protests in an effort to divert blame or ameliorate the situation, save only the EDL have never burnt buses, set fire to buildings, looted shops, attacked homeowners and robbed them. These were the same people who hunted desperately for any kind of link between Anders Brievik and the EDL even to the extent of inventing a few.
This is what happens when those in power and their accomplices simply don't listen to ordinary people.

Unfit for purpose

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

I guess in the days before flight or even mass travel it was fairly easy for Her/His Majesties Customs and Excise to keep an eye on who (and what) was coming in, though judging by some of the novels of past times I've been reading, smuggling has always been a bit of a problem if only because the idiot politicians always set the bar too high where it came to duties on various imports. Eventually though we joined the EEC and the various powers that be conspired behind all our backs and without asking us turned the EEC into the EU and made our borders quite porous to anyone with an EU passport. The UK Border Agency was also formed in this time to keep a track of asylum seekers and other undesirables such as multi-national criminals and illegal immigrants. It rapidly became obvious that it was unfit for purpose.
Express.

THE UK Border Agency ran up record losses of nearly £300million last year, including £1.8million racked up by a convicted conman.
It also paid £2.2million in error to failed asylum seekers who were no longer entitled to benefits, costing £15million in all since 2008, the agency’s annual report reveals.
Staff also received £1.9million in overpayments and £14.2million was doled out to refugees wrongly detained by immigration officials.
Two private finance deals also had to be renegotiated after chiefs admitted “significant duplication” in IT projects awarded to Fujitsu and Atos Origin worth £430million.
The agency’s accounts were described as a “comedy of errors” yesterday and yet more proof that it is “not fit for purpose”, as Keith Vaz, chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee, said last year.
Despite the failings, 11 directors received £1.2million in pay and £90,000 in bonuses. UKBA wrote off £297million in bad debts and losses last year, including £207million lost on its e-Borders project, which collects travellers’ details before they arrive in Britain.
On top of this the government has also admitted that it has "lost" 180,000 illegals  since December 2008 and that's only the ones officially here who went missing, it does not include the ones smuggled in on lorries.
Now, I don't like government interference in my life and I especially hate it when the government and its agents are wasting my money. But I do think that it's the job of a minimal government to protect our borders, defend the country and enforce the few laws that we have. As it is we have big state and big spending and an uncanny inability to do anything right due mostly to over regulation and the idiocy of the Human Rights Act.
If we had a simplified system that checked people in and out and quickly removed those who remain illegally I'd be ok with my money being spent on it providing I thought it was giving value for money. This Agency would only allow one appeal by asylum seekers and no appeals at all for other illegals. That would also mean the return of any granted asylum who committed a crime, no ifs or buts.
We need control of our borders, the government has given them away and saddled us with a white elephant supposedly to guard them. We need out of the EU, we need the abolishment of the HRA and we need to enact laws that suit us, not the EU.
Otherwise things will only get worse.

Must?

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

Apparently according to an EU commissioner we "must" take more migrants and no doubt our spineless politicians will toe the line and allow more migrants in despite the fact that we have 2.45 million unemployed people officially on the books anyway.
Express.
MEDDLING eurocrats are demanding that Britain welcomes more immigrants to help the EU’s struggling economy, it emerged yesterday.
European Union Home Affairs Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom says immigration and visa-free travel are essential to boost economic fortunes.
The Swedish politician has urged member states to welcome more immigrants to help deal with skills shortages, an ageing population and a declining workforce.
Further immigration will boost the economies of EU countries and benefit their residents, she went on. Ms Malmstrom’s comments come after Denmark brought in tougher border controls in response to growing immigration from North Africa.
Ok, now first Ms Malmstrom is actually only talking about the Schengen Zone which doesn't include the UK, however once into the EU and given an EU passport, any immigrant would be free to come here and lets face it, a hell of a lot of them do.
The problem is the type of immigrant we get, North African immigrants tend to be unskilled and we have enough unskilled people here who really should be "encouraged" to take a low paid job whether they like it or not, even to the extent of cutting off their benefits.
The other problem with North African immigrants is that they tend to be Muslim and we have enough problems with the Muslims we have already in this country, not all to be sure, but enough to know that basically they cause more problems than they are worth and the more there are of them, the bigger the problems are as they don't seem to think that our rules should apply to them.
I'm not saying we don't need some immigration, however we don't need unskilled immigrants, we should only be looking for skilled professionals who can and will integrate into our society, not form another unskilled underclass with religious paranoia thrown in.
However, unless we do leave the EU, that's exactly what will happen because our idiot politicians handed over the keys to the door when they signed up to the EU and gave away our sovereignty, something the traitors had no right to do.

Finally someone gets it

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

Immigration would not be a problem if we made it so that an immigrant here had to work or get no benefits whatsoever until they qualified for a safety net benefits system by paying a set amount into the taxation system over a period of time (or even a lump sum) No housing, health or unemployment benefits until you'd put something into the system, lower paid the job, longer it would take, say 10 years at least via the taxation of a minimum wage earner.
As no political party can do this because of EU regulations then the only way around it would be to strictly limit immigration only to the skills we need and this is what an advisor to Red Ed Millipede has suggested.
Telegraph.
Immigration in to the UK should be frozen altogether, one of Ed Miliband’s most trusted advisers said today.
Lord Glasman, the leading policy adviser to the Labour leader, said the country should “draw the line” on immigration and even renegotiate EU rules that allow free movement for migrant workers.
He told The Daily Telegraph that Britain is “not an outpost of the UN” and the needs of the British people must be put first.
The comments are the most drastic yet for any of the major political parties and would effectively end immigration in to the UK.
However, the Labour party was last night quick to distance itself from the suggestions, insisting Lord Glasman’s views were “his own”.
Immigration has been thrust back on to the political agenda by both Labour and the Conservatives.
This is particularly ironic coming from an advisor to the leader of the Labour party who reigned over uncontrolled immigration whilst they were in power.
Lord Glasman really should have remembered the example of Frank Field who was told by Tony Blair to "think the unthinkable" He did and was forced to resign. So Glasman finds himself being distanced from the politicians who cannot apply what an ordinary person believes to be common sense as they simply don't mix with ordinary people but rather live in a weird bubble where the only people they really contact are other politicians and the political classes. The political classes love immigration and immigrants (if only because they don't tend to live amongst them). Immigrants tend to vote Labour anyway so they are beloved of the left wingers who tend to see the indigenous people as the problem because they don't tend to vote for the left seeing the left as well as the political classes for what they are, parasites on the system.
The longer however this goes on, the greater the gap between what the UK public actually want and what our politicians want to give us becomes and it's a potential breeding ground for extremism. The more acute the problem becomes, the more people will start to look for anyone offering a solution. The left and many of the political classes have decried the rise of the EDL, though they only have themselves to blame for that, yet the EDL isn't the problem, the EDL came about because of the problems created by the political classes and the defence of extremists amongst the immigrant community by the left.
Lord Glasman has a solution, it would work (apart from the EU not letting it work) yet our politicians are running away from it without even discussing it.
Tells you all you need to know really.

The immigration magnet

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

One of the reasons the UK is a magnet for immigrants is our language, English is the second language of choice for most foreigners should they choose to learn it, most books and technical publications have an English language version, the vast majority of films are made in English in the USA, even the language used in international air traffic is English, thus an Italian pilot, landing in Italy under the control of the Italian air controller will do the whole process in English. Even to the extent that words from other languages will often be adapted into English if we like them or they are popular enough to enter our culture, we don't seek to defend our language as other countries do, we simply absorb new words and call them ours.
Mail.
More immigrants settle permanently in Britain than any other country in Europe, a study revealed yesterday.
The latest figures showed that 397,900 foreigners decided to live here in 2009 – second in the world only to the U.S.
The figure marked a rise of 14 per cent from the previous year. It was the largest increase in the developed world, at a time when most countries saw dramatic falls in the number of permanent settlers.
The study, from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, said the increase was largely down to family members coming to stay with those already in Britain, and the large number of foreign students living here.
The study comes just over a week after Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith said a generation of Britons would be condemned to a life on benefits unless immigration rules were tightened.
Fair enough in its own way, people will come here to learn English or will travel to a country in which they already have a rudimentary knowledge of the language, after all it's easier than trying to learn a new one.
However any new immigrants should also expect to adapt to us and not simply hole up in a ghetto of their own which unfortunately has happened recently, nor do I believe that immigrants should be entitled to any sort of benefits until they have at least paid a fixed sum into the system in taxation, that includes medical treatment other than emergency stuff. That would mean people coming here to work at least would be encouraged, non working partner/spouse well they pay for them too. That would also mean the better paid/more skilled they are the quicker they would be covered by the safety blanket. Non skilled minimum wage slaves coming here would have to be working at least 10 years before they even got minimum benefits.
That still leaves us with a problem about what to do about our own unemployed, but if we have fewer economic migrants because they have to pay their own way, perhaps our employers will look to take on some of our own.

The (genuine) right to remain

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

How other states treat their citizens is a matter of concern and on occasion they should be allowed refugee status if they somehow or other make it here if they were at risk of persecution.
BBC.
A Jamaican lesbian has won the right to stay in the UK after immigration judges ruled she risks persecution if she returns to her home country.
The woman, who cannot be identified but lives in Stoke-on-Trent, was originally refused leave to remain in the UK by the Home Office.
She asked to stay on the basis she was an "out" lesbian and her home country is "deeply homophobic".
A tribunal has now ruled she can remain in the UK.
Her case was reconsidered by the Upper Tribunal's Immigration and Asylum Chamber in London where senior immigration judges said she was "entitled to refugee protection".
The case was identified by the judges as one of potential "country guidance" on the issue of the risks to lesbians returning to Jamaica.
The tribunal heard the woman became aware of her sexuality as a young girl.
Unable to be open, she had lived as a "discreet lesbian", socialising with a select group of women who organised meetings via an internet chatroom.
She told the tribunal that while out with this group on one occasion they were identified as possible lesbians because they were dancing together, rather than with men, and the DJ began playing hostile songs with anti-gay lyrics.
A group of men then threatened to "convert them" - implying they would rape them - and followed them out of the bar.
A terrible thing it is to be threatened for what your lifestyle choices are and I do hope she can make something of her chance to remain. That said however, I also hope she is not going to be a burden to UK society simply by being a benefits drone and I also would hope that if she breaks the law for any reason, she's out and on the next plane home. I also realise the way the law and benefits system now works here that she could do either of those things and still remain here which doesn't strike me as fair at all. I also wonder what happened to the first safe country principle that's supposed to be used for claiming asylum rather than the first rich country rule that seems to be high on the agenda of a lot of refugees. Nor do I have any time for those who claim asylum as economic refugees, still this seems genuine and I have no problem with genuine, I do have a major problem in that the genuine seem to be well outnumbered by those who just wish to stay because this is a better place to stay rather than because they are genuinely being persecuted. I'm also wondering if claiming that your sexuality is an issue will take over from the "right to a family life" which seems to have been a favourite.
Like many others I have no problem with being a safe haven for genuine cases, I do however suspect that the legal profession is taking the piss with a good few cases and technicalities, not circumstances have allowed a good few to remain when really they should have been sent home.

It's not immigration as such, it's integration

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

The ONS figures for immigration were released yesterday and merely confirmed what everyone knew, despite attempts to close down the subject by the previous Labour government by screaming racist at anyone who brought the subject up and the promise of the current Tory government to get the numbers down to the 10's of thousands.
Express.
OF all the promises in last year’s Conservative manifesto one stands out as belonging in fantasy land: “We will take net migration back to the levels of the Nineties – tens of thousands, not hundreds of thousands.” Yesterday the Office for National Statistics (ONS) released its latest population figures and there is no mistaking in which direction immigration is heading.
In the year to mid-2010, 574,000 immigrants entered Britain. Net migration rose from 176,000 to 230,000, contributing to the sharpest rise in the uK population for nearly 50 years.
The latest estimate for the UK in mid-2010 was 62,262,000, a rise of 470,000 on a year earlier.
In fact immigration plays a greater role in boosting the overall population than those figures suggest.
Recently arrived immigrants have a far higher birth rate than does the existing population. The total fertility rate – the number of children a woman can expect to have in her lifetime – is 1.84 for women born in the UK and 2.48 for those born abroad. In 2009/10 just under a quarter of all babies born in the UK were to mothers born outside the UK.
Given that it takes a full year for the ONS to compile its population estimates, the latest shocking rise in immigration – which covers the period mid-2009 to 2010 – cannot be laid at the present Government’s door. Nevertheless it is hard to see how next year’s figures will present a much different story.
Yes, mass uncontrolled immigration is a problem, no-one denies that (now) and this is a relatively overcrowded island in places, particularly the nice bits of England where most of us happen to live. However the real danger has come from deliberate government policies that have prevented integration.
No deliberate policy of only using the native tongues of this land in all communications in fact a deliberate effort made to translate for all immigrants enabling them to reject or ignore integration by language.
Deliberate use of political correctness to prevent investigation into cultural crimes, often by the use of the term racism to shut down debate or criticism, a prime example being the years of the police knowing about the grooming of young girls by Pakistani Muslim males, other examples being the criticisms levelled at racial profiling as being racist rather than statistical.in nature.
Deliberate use of multiculturalism to allow ghettoisation of certain cultures and move them above criticism simply for being who they are, leading to isolation from the mainstream culture and lack of integration due to cultural bias often against women, often against other cultures being forced out by a variety of hostile acts and discrimination.
Nothing seems to have changed in government policy in the last year or so, merely big words on cutting down on immigration without any seemingly tangible action. But immigration wouldn't be a problem if immigrants had to integrate simply because they would not thrive otherwise, also certain religious groups cause more trouble than their worth because their cultural norms are not compatible with western democracy and their religious laws are actually anathema to western law. Not that these people can't integrate, just that often enough they wont and expect us to accommodate and adapt to them.
So the problems we face are mostly of our politicians making, too many immigrants and no pressure to integrate. This needs to change and change fast before the next stage of the lack of integration kicks in, mass civil disruption and rioting by the populace, followed by civil war.
I see no sign as yet that 20 years down the road we will not be fighting a war for supremacy in our own land against a foreign creed utterly at odds with our hard won freedoms.

It's all related

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

Ian Duncan Smith is going to get up in parliament today and tell us what we all know in that mass immigration has been an absolute disaster for the UK in condemning whole generations of UK youth to a benefits culture because they are simply not able to do the jobs on offer owing to poor education standards.

Telegraph.
Too many young people are unable to read, write or communicate properly and do not work hard, a business leader claimed, as mass immigration is named by the Government as the biggest threat to challenging the benefits culture.
The Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, David Frost, said business leaders knew there was a problem with youth unemployment but they could not afford to ignore cheaper skilled foreign workers.
Mr Frost said employers needed the "best people" and identified what he said were the problems with too many of Britain's youth, in an interview with BBC Radio 4's Today programme.
He said businesses expected "young people to come forward to them who are able to read, write, communicate and have a strong work ethic and too often that's not the case".
He added: "There's a stream of highly able eastern European migrants who are able to take those jobs and that's why they're taking them on.
"They are skilled, they speak good English and, more importantly, they want to work."
Yes, they want to work and they come here to do the jobs that our poorly educated young people can't and wont do it seems and so long as they are allowed to come here, the situation will go on.
What is needed is a radical rethink of the way young people/kids are educated in schools where the emphasis is on basics, discipline and the inculating of a work ethic. Yet that alone is not enough if the changes don't happen within the home as well.
It's hard to blame companies who wont take on UK people who don't meet the job requirements especially when they can get people who do and are prepared to work hard from elsewhere. Turning off the immigration tap will help a bit, but it will be an expensive process too as people will need extra training to meet the standards required. yet that and education is exactly what is needed to solve the problem, though I suspect it will take years assuming we could even start now, which we can't, because of the EU.
It will take years to put this right, just stopping immigration wont do it, we need a well educated workforce and that's something we don't have, decades of meddling with the education by the imbeciles in parliament have seen to that with their social engineering and everyone must be a winner dogmas.
Step one, leave the EU.
Step two, remove the political ethos from education and just educate.
Step three, adjust benefits to where having a job is a major benefit rather than an obstacle.
It will put itself right eventually, but not till we do the above.

No sympathy

Expecting sympathy when you're an illegal immigrant being extradited is only going to come from certain quarters, mostly the idiot left and human rights lawyers who see a chance of making some money particularly when the immigrant is desperate enough to do this...

Telegraph.
The man is receiving treatment in hospital after the Virgin Atlantic flight from London Gatwick to Kingston, Jamaica, was postponed.
A UK Border Agency spokesman said an investigation was being launched into how the man was able to inflict the ''superficial injuries'' on himself.
Passengers, who watched in in horror as the incident took place, have been offered counselling by the airline.
Emergency services prevented more serious injury by "gluing" his throat together, a source said.
A spokeswoman for the airline said: "Virgin Atlantic confirms that flight VS69 from London Gatwick to Kingston has been delayed until 12.45 on June 21 following a passenger incident.
"The aircraft which was due to depart at 12.45 on June 20 was met by the relevant authorities and the passenger was taken to hospital for treatment.
"The safety and welfare of our crew and passengers is Virgin Atlantic's top priority. Virgin Atlantic is cooperating with the authorities in their investigation of the incident and is offering counselling support to passengers and crew.
"All passengers on board the plane have been provided with hotel accommodation, refreshments and meals until the flight departs tomorrow. Any passengers who wish to change their flights will be able to do so."
I do hope once his injuries are temporarily repaired enough to travel that he's put back on the next plane preferably in chains. Hopefully the enquiry will also be able to take place in his absence too.
The last thing we really need in this country (actually there's a load of last things but bear with me) are illegal immigrants trying to blackmail the authorities by using self inflicted injuries to prevent deportation, even on the plane itself.
Particularly when it's only a flesh wound...

Too little too late

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

One of the ways many illegal immigrants gained access to this country was by getting an education visa and simply just vanishing into the system once they got here. Lot of scam courses from a lot of scam colleges were allowed to be set up by the previous government and a lot of people got very wealthy because of it..

Express.
A CRACKDOWN on abuse of the student visa system should cut overall immigration by more then 200,000 over the next four years, it was revealed by the Government last night.
Officials estimate the new policies being introduced gradually will mean 260,000 fewer student visas are granted between now and 2015, and 100,000 fewer awarded to students’ dependants.
It should lead to a 230,000 reduction in net migration. Today ministers are expected to set out latest details of the timescale for their continuing reform of the system which has become a major route for would-be immigrants to get into the country.
The issue has caused some controversy, with Lib Dem Business Secretary Vince Cable concerned that immigration curbs will hit university quality and revenue.
But the Home Office insists its aim is to tackle abuse and establish controls which command confidence while encouraging the best and brightest young people to come here on genuine courses.
Yes 260,000 over 4 years sounds good, but it's still only a drop in the ocean as some 586,000 people arrived to live in Britain and 344,000 emigrated just last September and student visa were already 30% up in that time anyway.
The problem is further exacerbated by the fact that anyone who can make it to the EU and pick up an EU passport can come here anyway. and we're stupid enough to pay them benefits when they do.
Now it would be great if the people arriving had skills we could use, except in a majority of cases they aren't, they're here to take up cheap labour jobs that our homegrown people wont do because our benefits system makes it not worth their while doing. So they come here, work, live far too many to a house and send money home, as our minimum wage is a lot more than what they can earn for doing similar stuff back home.
The only way to stop this is to leave the EU, reform the benefits system root and branch and kick out any and all illegals regardless. Once we leave the EU, we'll have control of our borders back, control of our laws and a sovereign parliament that will do the right thing for the country rather than the EU and its odious bureaucracy.
Can't come too soon.
Nor should we ever forget Labours role in this farce.

This is not a right

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

The older I get the more I despise the effects of the Human Rights Act and the way it's interpreted by judges and lawyers if only because the vast majority of people who seem to benefit from it are criminal scum who pass through the justice system. Not that I consider all asylum seekers to be scum, but they have used the HRA and the legal system to their advantage when it comes to staying here even when they have no right to do so...

Telegraph.
Tens of thousands of asylum seekers have been awarded British residency under a controversial human rights law which allow foreigners to stay because they have a partner or children in this country.
Out of 161,000 foreigners allowed to remain in Britain as part of the Government's "back door amnesty", a significant number were ruled to have a case under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which guarantees the "right to family life".
It was this factor that was decisive in winning the right to stay in Britain, rather than any evidence they were genuinely fleeing persecution.
In many cases, initial Home Office delays in processing the claims will have been the factor that allowed asylum seekers who entered Britain as young single people the opportunity to start families.
The development exposes the impact of asylum failures under Labour, which triggered a long-running project to clear more than 400,000 asylum cases, dubbed "legacy cases", which had been allowed to fester since the late 1990s. The exercise was heavily criticised last week in a report by MPs on the all-party Home Affairs Committee.
There you have it, get into the UK, sometimes illegally, claim asylum, find and knock up some woman and you can stay, ok, ok probably not as crude as that in all cases, but certainly the case for some including Aso Mohammed Ibrahim who ran down Amy Houston and ran off leaving her to die whilst disqualified from driving, yet instead of being deported was allowed to stay because Ibrahim's lawyers argued that his human rights would be contravened if he were sent back to Iraq as he now has a family here.
Most would say his family can go back with him if they want.
Cameron was supposed to be getting rid of the HRA, naturally enough he hasn't, he hasn't even tried for a British Bill of Rights, he got told by Ken Clarke that such a bill would have to lie on top of EU law and not supersede it. No-one in government it seems is prepared to do anything about injustices within the HRA system, no one in government it seems is willing to leave the EU, the ECHR and scrap the hideous legislation foisted upon us by the previous government such as the HRA and the abysmal Equalities Act.
Seems they'd rather ignore abuse than do something about it and then they wonder why we hold them in contempt.

Taking the mickey

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

Seems our idiot government has decided that it might be a good idea to pay people who shouldn't be here to go home.

Express.
FOREIGN criminals have been handed up to £25million of taxpayers’ cash to go home despite having no right to remain here, it emerged yesterday.
State “bribes” dished out under the Home Office’s voluntary return programme were given to nearly half of all overseas prisoners removed in the past 16 months alone at a cost of up to £12million, according to leaked documents.
The figure is about the same amount paid out in the first three years of the scheme and shows how common the controversial handouts are becoming.
Just one in three prisoners deported in 2009 left under the voluntary programme. Last year that figure was closer to one in two.
The UK Border Agency defended the payments of up to £1,500, saying they help avoid costly deportation battles, but critics yesterday hit out at the idea of paying money to convicts, who include rapists and muggers.
Costly deportation battles? I'm sorry but they shouldn't be here and shouldn't even get the option to fight deportation, even if they've settled and have families. And, what's to stop them simply coming back after they leave? It really is simple, we should not be using taxpayers money as a bribe to get anyone to leave, nor should we be allowing them any attempt to appeal deportation for being here illegally. If you're caught, you're gone, simple as that and all your worldly goods other than the clothes you stand in are sold off to pay your fare and fine. This should especially apply to criminals if you're here illegally and break the law then your feet should not touch the ground once you've served your sentence, you have no right to be here and secondly you've broken other laws as well!
I would not have believed we would do something so stupid as to give criminals money to go away as little as even 15 years ago. Now it's producing nothing other than a tut and a typical comment from most around me.
Welcome to the mad house that is the UK.

Paying a high price

No, not about the Lib Dems (stop laughing at the back!) but about the lifestyle of the workshy and indolent.

‘GET A JOB, LEARN ENGLISH AND STOP SMOKING DOPE’

A JUDGE told an immigrant drug dealer on benefits that he must “get a job, learn English and stop smoking cannabis” if he wanted to avoid prison.
Pakistan-born Mohammed Ramzan was spared a spell behind bars after a court heard he spent £20 a day of his taxpayer-funded benefits on drugs.
The 32-year-old, who needed an interpreter to understand proceedings, admitted three counts of drug dealing after police raided his home and discovered cannabis bagged and ready to sell.
Twice over the next three months, officers raided different houses where Ramzan was living and each time found evidence of cannabis use.
Judge Andrew Hamilton told him at Derby Crown Court: “It’s about time you learnt to speak English. It seems to me very difficult to live in this country if you can’t speak the language.
“And you should be going out, getting work, instead of sitting at home smoking cannabis.
Well isn't that just a wonderful testament to the benefits society? An immigrant, can't speak English (so he says) unemployed, using his benefits to buy drugs and appears to be dealing in them too. The leftist imbeciles who encouraged uncontrolled immigration must be so proud.
First off, why is he here? Surely it cannot be that he came simply to live in a better country for nothing? (I know, I know)
Second, why can't he speak English yet?
Third, why isn't he in jail or being deported as a waste of space?

Now I don't really have an issue with the drugs, that's his choice, or rather would be if he was paying for them with his own money rather than benefits. However I'm firmly of the belief that you should get no benefits at all (housing, health, income support) if you were either not born here or never paid in for at least 4 to 5 years. That means you need enough cash to support you till you get a job, because once it runs out, you're out, begging is not a job and means an automatic deportation at your expense. perhaps we should make all immigrants pay a bond covering deportation, paid back at the end of their 5 year probation?
I'm also of the opinion that we should scrap all free translation services, this is the UK, we speak 3 official languages and can do braille, sign and large print if necessary. We need to take a leaf out of France's book and do nothing else but those, if you don't understand, that's your problem, not the states, you solve it at your expense.
Committing a crime during your probationary period means automatic deportation too, any crime, dropping litter etc.
Yes we should welcome immigrants who are prepared to work hard and contribute, but we should not be paying a penny to those who do not and cannot.

So tell us something we don't know

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

Apparently Labour lied to us about immigration according to Lord Glasman, one of Ed Miliband’s most senior advisers in an interview for the May edition of Progress magazine in which he tells us something we already knew and had raged about.

Telegraph.
One of Ed Miliband’s most senior advisers has accused the last Labour government of “lying” about immigration and blamed the party for the rise of the far Right.
Ah yes, the "Far Right" one of Labours fearsome shibboleths to browbeat anyone who questioned their policies of rubbing the right's noses in multiculturalism, along with racist and bigot. Not that the right were any of those things nor were the right likely to be affected by those things either, no, the burden of coping with mass immigration fell as usual on the urban working class, Labours core vote and hardly an example of the "Far Right" at all.
Lord Glasman claimed that working class men were unable to talk about the matters important to them at Labour Party meetings without being labelled sexist or racist.
He added: “There was no public discussion of immigration and its benefits. In fact there was a very hard rhetoric combined with a very loose policy going on.
“Labour lied to people about the extent of immigration and the extent of illegal immigration and there’s been a massive rupture of trust.”
No shit Sherlock.
Calling on “progressive” people to recognise their “responsibility for the generation of far-Right populism,” Lord Glasman suggested that Labour was partly responsible for the rise in organisations such as the English Defence League, which was founded in 2009 and organises street marches against Islamic extremism.
He said: “You consider yourself... so opposed that you don’t want to talk to them, you don’t want to engage with them, you don’t want anybody with views like that anywhere near the party.”
This, Lord Glasman said, meant that party members ignored “a hate and rage against us” from working class people “who have always been true to Labour”.
“Working class men can’t really speak at Labour Party meetings about what causes them grief, concerns about their family, concerns about immigration, love of country, without being falsely stereotyped as sexist, racist, nationalist,” he said.
Far Right populism? I presume he's not talking about a free market economy where goods and service prices are kept low by competition amongst companies and workers over wages and prices as well as low taxation.
No, "Far Right" is the Labour and MSM codeword for racists, or those who they have tarred with the racist brush, despite the fact that the only supposed "Far Right" political party (BNP) is somewhat to the left of Labour when it comes to economics. Nor are the other group the EDL "Far Right" they aren't even political, though they do seek a peaceful political solution to extreme Islam and mass immigration. Recently they've even started a campaign to force the MSM to drop the "Far Right" tag by a letter writing campaign along with complaints to the Press Complaints Commission.
Facts are as anyone who studies politics will tell you is that National Socialism and Fascism are both the bastard offspring of the far left and contain many of the lefts thoughts and philosophies in their make up, they are only termed "Far Right" to differentiate them from the "Far Left" in the same way that Monty Python took to town the various Jewish factions in "The Life of Brian" In a sense National Socialism and Fascism are the "splitters" in the family of the left in that they encompass nationalism rather than internationalism.
In essence that's where Labour really failed the working class, they became too wrapped up in multiculturalism and internationalism and ignored the ordinary patriotic folk who under normal circumstances would vote a donkey with a red rosette into parliament (and frequently did) to the extent that they took it upon themselves to vote for people and join organisations who said they'd do something about it.
Not right wing organisations as Lord Glasman and many on the left would like to have us believe, but simply groups and parties who said we'll do something about it. And it's taken how many years before anyone in Labour would even come out and admit that they deliberately dumped on their core support and had the gall to deny that there was a problem, indeed anyone who raised concerns was immediately labelled a racist, bigot, nationalist, right winger, etc.
So tell us something we didn't know Lord Glasman, because what you said in that interview we've known for years...

Why is this man in the government?

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

No, not Ken Clarke (for once) but Vince (famous for calling G Brown Mr Bean) Cable a man who was féted as some sort of economic wizard but for the life of me seems to be some sort of socialist simpleton with no grasp of the effect of socialist policies on ordinary people, in this case uncontrolled immigration.

Telegraph.

The Prime Minister will today claim that uncontrolled immigration has undermined some British communities. Pledging to cut the numbers entering Britain to tens of thousands, rather than hundreds of thousands, Mr Cameron will say that "for too long, immigration has been too high".
Mr Cameron’s speech, his first major address on the issue since the general election, will please many Conservative MPs and voters.
But Mr Cable, a Liberal Democrat, described the speech as “very unwise” and suggested it could fuel extremism over immigration.
“The reference to the tens of thousands of immigrants rather than hundreds of thousands is not part of the coalition agreement, it is Tory party policy only,” Mr Cable told the BBC.
“I do understand there is an election coming but talk of mass immigration risks inflaming the extremism to which he and I are both strongly opposed.”
Thing that strikes me is that if Cameron's speech will inflame extremism, why did we invite extremists into the UK in the first place? Assuming of course we did invite them and they just didn't turn up on their own bat, which under labour was entirely possible. Doubt that Cable has got an answer for that one other than a Neville Chamberlainesque appeasement to totalitarianism, which seems to be what he's aiming for. You don't appease bullies and extremists, they see it as weakness and will just attempt to extort more concessions from you. I know that, I suspect you'll know that, but politicians? I just don't know any more, after all you'll see or hear Cameron's speech today and not that the only immigration he can do anything about is non EU immigration which means anyone getting an EU passport from any after escaping any violent shithole can come here and start their own branch of gangsters r us complete with a full set of benefits and a decent house paid for by us. What Cable doesn't get is the fact that it's our generosity that's fuelling extremism because we pay for extremists to do nothing except sit at home, or meet up to plot extremism. If they had to work hard to feed themselves trust me that will knock the extremism out of anyone.
Cameron can't stop mass immigration, it's no longer under the UK governments remit as it's under EU control, he can only sound off and make as if he can make a difference to get votes during the local elections. Cable claims that he and Cameron oppose extremism, though neither are able to do anything about the extremists in our midst, though I do know that talking about immigration won't inflame them, they're already inflamed and Cable would only have us appease them, it's an old socialist fantasy that being nice to someone will make them nice right back, that only works with civilised people and those who would be inflamed are not civilised otherwise they wouldn't be extremists.

It may be the law, but it isn't justice

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

It didn't really make anything but a footnote in the various MSM outlets, but justice for Amy Houston failed on Thursday. Amy was the young girl who was killed by Aso Mohammed Ibrahim, 33, an Iraqi Kurd and a failed asylum seeker who was already banned from driving, who left Amy Houston dying under the wheels of his car in Blackburn in 2003.

Sky.
A bid to deport failed asylum seeker Aso Mohammed Ibrahim, who killed a 12-year-old girl in a hit-and-run in Lancashire, has been rejected.
Ibrahim, a 33-year-old Iraqi Kurd, had already been banned from driving when he left Amy Houston dying under the wheels of his car in Blackburn in 2003.

He was jailed for four months over the death but on his release was allowed to remain in the UK

Ibrahim had faced deportation as an illegal immigrant but was allowed to remain after an immigration judge ruled in 2009 that he had established a "family life" in the UK.

Amy's father Paul had campaigned for years to get Ibrahim deported.
The Court of Appeal judges expressed their "greatest sympathy" for Amy's family but said their only task was to decide whether there had been any error of law.

After the judgement was given, Mr Houston, who was in the public gallery, addressed the bench saying: "What about my right to a family life?"
There is some debate going on currently as to whether or not Ibrahim is married or that the children are his and he's simply using this as an excuse to stay in the UK. But whether true or not it's plain to me that there has been a gross miscarriage of justice here, oh certainly with Ibrahim the law was upheld and his human rights were not breached, though again what of Amy Houston's rights and those of her father to see justice done? 4 months in prison hardly strikes me as just and as for being allowed to stay here after he had failed to be granted asylum status...
Oh yes I'm sure they took the rights of his new family to have a "man" in their life into account, but my sympathy for them is by far outweighed by my disgust at his actions, nothing stopping them from going back to Iraq with him after all if they need him so much.
As the father said we have a system that protects the criminal.
This killer is free to live in this country despite his criminal past, but meanwhile the family of the girl are "sentenced" to live the rest of their lives in mourning, a judgement made on a legal point, NOT common sense.

Single nation my....

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

What is it with idiots in government who are trying to persuade us that there is a British nation? Usually it's aimed at the English as they pretty much know what the response from the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish will be though they are now finding it harder and harder to persuade the English that they are anything other than English.

Telegraph.
Britons need to see themselves as a single nation, says Security Minister.
It is not enough for Muslims to “rub along” without breaking the law, they must be persuaded that their long-term future lies in Britain, the Security Minister has said.
OK, first things first, Muslims see themselves as Muslims first and last, it's part of the problem they have in integrating. Asian Muslims especially given the tribal nature of their ethnic groups also have a very difficult job in seeing beyond the boundaries of their family/tribe to the good of the nation in general, it's called amoral familism and it's a cancer which can drag a nation down into a multitude of warring factions, it's highly prevalent in the Muslim world and it's something they've been allowed to get away with over here in the name of multiculturalism.
Baroness Neville-Jones told the Daily Telegraph that that at the same time the government need to persuade the majority of the population that the UK is a single nation.
I'm English, not British, the only thing British about me is my passport and I'd change that if I could. Sots, Welsh and Northern Irish (to some extent) are the same. We no longer like to be called British, because we aren't.
“I think it’s a common experience now that we know less about each other than we used to and I think there’s a very strong feeling that we need to understand each other and we need to be working together as a nation,” Lady Neville-Jones added.
“[We are] trying to convince minorities in this country that they actually do have a long term future here and that it’s their country as much as anybody else’s,” she said in an interview.
It is also important to “convince the majority population we are a single nation,” she added.
We know less than we used too because previous governments allowed certain (religious) groups to keep themselves separate and not integrate. They also refuse to interact now as they believe we should integrate with them and not vice versa. If they wont integrate I'm sorry but they don't have a long term future here, because eventually they'll push too hard with something like Shariah law and they'll be expelled and because they wont integrate we'll know exactly where to find them.
Lady Neville-Jones will also say that those on the “right-wing extremist fringe” who argue that the West and Islam are “eternally irreconcilable” have “more in common with the Islamist extremists than they might like to think.”
So the right blow up tubes, fly planes into buildings, bomb buses, try to drive cars packed with explosives wrapped in nails into airports, burn poppies and abuse our soldiers for simply doing their jobs?
Somehow I don't think so.
She will also say that individuals who are on the path to radicalisation do not exist in a vacuum.
“They live in neighbourhoods, they meet friends and family, they use shops and businesses, and they come into contact with local public sector workers such as teachers, nurses or community police officers who may be well placed, especially if trained, to notice changes in behaviour,” she will say in a speech at the Council on Foreign Relations.

Hasn't worked too well so far, the Swedish bomber came from Luton, was (supposedly) expelled from his mosque for being a radical and even his Mrs didn't notice anything out of the ordinary other than he hated the country that had given him a home, but that it seems is normal for Islamists, many of whom have families that fled Islamic oppression and poverty only to end up with it following them and trying to turn the nations of the west into the same kind of intolerant shitholes they tried to escape.

So no, were not a single British nation, we might have technically been before devolution, but now we're a lot of nations trying to get on together with a major exception of one group who can't it seems get on with anyone, not even itself. The solution is obvious, but I doubt anyone in government will have the balls to express it. They integrate fully with us or they are asked politely to leave, we can tag on an "or else" if they won't politely leave.

Waste of money

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

The original census (1801) had very few questions, mostly name, sex, occupation and was simply half of one page. Like most things to do with bureaucracy and statistic gathering it grew and grew until the new one due stands at 11 pages and wants to know the ins and outs of a ducks backside so far as I can tell. Still it is only every 10 years and I guess I could tolerate it even if I planned for that day to move all the beds into one room and lie about my religion and various other items of my life that I think are none of the government business.
This however got my goat (yes the dog will be registered as a goat that day if they happen to ask)

Telegraph.

The cost of next month’s national census is expected to reach almost £500 million as 30,000 officials are hired to ensure immigrants who do not speak English take part in the compulsory population count.

Guidance on how to complete the 32-page form has been translated into 56 languages while advertisements are being broadcast on ethnic minority TV channels and leaflets distributed to shops, mosques, churches and temples.
It is a legal requirement for everyone to complete the census, which takes place once every 10 years, with the next national survey due to be conducted on 27 March. The results are used to help plan public services, including school places, hospitals, and transport.
Persistent refusal to complete the form can lead to prosecution and a fine of up to £1,000.
But the Office for National Statistics, which organises the survey, admitted that while three million people failed to complete the 2001 census, only 38 were convicted.
Glen Watson, ONS census director, said the cost of the exercise was projected to reach £480 million this year, twice the total for the previous census in 2001.

Why are we wasting taxpayers money on translations? There should only be language translations for the recognised languages of these Islands. English, Welsh, Scots Gael and possibly Manx assuming it's a separate tongue, oh and Braille too and perhaps a large print edition. You can't read any of those? Tough, you pay for a translator out of your own pocket, not mine or else learn the language yourself!
I'm sick and tired of the continual waste of money the state throws down the drain translating other languages for those too bloody lazy to learn the language of the country they live in! You don't see it happening in France, they make bloody sure you only get everything in French, if you can't cope, it's your problem, not theirs. £500 million in wasted cash that could have been spent on something important like school repairs or even repairing the winter potholes from the global warming spasm we had in December. But no we have to pander to those invited in by New Labour to vote for them and keep the cost of labour down. (3.2 million not counting illegals) But no, we have to keep the immigrants happy so Labour shelled out our cash to translate the census into 56 other languages and then apparently gave some USA military firm (Lockheed Martin)  the contract to to the data capture.

Ye Gods am I getting angry about this!

Culturalism failure

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

I live in Kent in the Medway area, though I'm not from Kent, still it's a nice county and has a good few interesting places to visit and walk, also London is just 30 miles away if I feel the need to enjoy big city delights, which to be honest is about once a year if that and is mostly a West End show followed by a few drinks. I fit in quite well here, after all I'm English and have pretty much the same roots and outlook in life as the people down here though they (technically) draw their roots back to the Jutes and my antecedents seem to be of Viking ancestry. So you'd think it would be the same for anyone from the same country in that what they have in common would unite them.
Well not in Folkestone...

Express.
A SEASIDE town has been turned into a battle zone by rival gangs of Afghan asylum seekers settling tribal differences, terrified residents say.
Tensions between different factions being housed in Folkestone, Kent, erupted into a pitched street battle last week that left one man dead and five seriously injured.
Families living in the area are scared to go out at night, with some fleeing their homes to escape the violence that has come with the influx of immigrants.
Michael Straw, 50, who lives near the scene, has been staying with friends since the mass brawl, said: “It is absolute chaos and like being in a war zone. I felt scared being there and cannot face going back.”
An elderly man, who did not want to be named for fear of reprisal, said: “This used to be a holiday town but in the last few years it’s turned into Beirut.”
Former police officer Malcolm Montgomery added: “There’s a lot of problems around here. I wouldn’t feel happy walking at night.”
Another joy of Labours open door immigration policy, they're even from the same country and they don't get on with themselves never mind the people here. We can't even deport them, their human rights would be breached if we did as their rights trump the residents who only want a peaceful life and don't want Folkestone turned into a war zone. They've brought their culture with them and it isn't the usual ethnic cuisine restaurants you normally see springing up, it's their tribal warfare. And no it's got nothing to do with their religion, the Afghan tribes have been fighting each other since before the days of Alexander the Great, we've just imported a tribal war that has its roots back to the days of prehistory. It's not a multiculturalism failure either, they're the same culture and they aren't fighting the locals (yet) but they have some of the locals scared out of their wits.
Something needs to be done, starting with leaving the EU and scrapping the Human Rights Act and replacing it with something that suits our needs and that of the law abiding people here. These Afghans need to be deported to where they can butcher each other without involving us, Afghanistan perhaps or Somalia at a push. And no, I don't care if their lives will be endangered if we deport them, that's their lookout, our country, our rules, live with them or leave.

If only...
