Understanding Car Insurance

Before you apply for any car insurance, it is important that you understand exactly what it is. By making sure that you understand the different factors which affect motor insurance, it will help you to make a better decision regarding which policy you choose to sign up for.

What should you know about Car Insurance?

The most important thing that you should know about car insurance is that no two policies are ever the same. So do not assume that any policy will suit you because this couldn't be further from the truth! In order to get the best insurance to suit you, you will first need to know what it is that you are looking for. You need to think about the following factors:

* Who will be driving the vehicle?

* Are you looking for specific insurance such as female only?

* Would you like theft insurance as well as accident insurance?

* Would you like breakdown cover?

Many people who are new to car insurance automatically think that breakdown cover and theft insurance come with all policies. Unfortunately that is not always the case and you have to read the small print of all policies just to be sure that you are getting exactly what you need. It is likely that you will have to pay extra for breakdown cover and theft insurance, but some brokers do offer free cover; you just have to look closely to see which policies are better suited to you.

Who will be driving the car will also make a difference as to which policy you choose. If there is only one driver then the insurance is easy enough to understand. However if there is to be more than one driver then this will need to be noted and you will need a policy which covers more than one driver. Third person insurance may be needed so it is important to establish this before you use a specialist insurance broker.

You should also think about whether you want to take advantage of any car insurance deals. If you are a female driver then you could benefit from a lower quote. Or if you have been driving for quite some time and you have never claimed on your insurance then that could also get you a better deal. By having a good idea of the different deals available you will then be able to take advantage of the best insurance policy to suit you. You really do need to take the time to familiarise yourself with different insurance policies. There are a lot of different factors that will affect the quotes that you receive. It is impossible to be provided with the best quote to suit your needs when you don't even know what your needs are and what policies are available.

Overall if you are searching for car insurance then it is always better to understand all of your options. That way you will end up with the best deals to suit you and you will not be paying more than you should further on down the line!

Understanding Female Car Insurance

Are you a female driver? If so then you could potentially benefit from specific female car insurance deals.

We all know that insurance can be expensive. However there are a number of different policies designed to save specific groups of driver's money. One group is female drivers, but just why does gender make a difference and what should you look out for when choosing the right insurance for you?

Why Female Car Insurance is often Cheaper

It is a long standing joke in the UK that female drivers are more hazardous on the road than male drivers. However the joke really is on the males as they could be paying a significantly higher amount for their insurance in comparison.

The main reason why female car insurance is often cheaper for females is because statistically females have fewer accidents than males. They tend to be more careful drivers and insurance companies see them to be a lower risk to insure. That is why they can afford to give discounts to female drivers. Not only do female drivers get good introductory rates, but many companies also aim to keep their female drivers happy. That means that discounts and benefits are constantly given throughout the insurance period. However, not all companies designed specifically for female drivers will give out lower quotes. Some will simply lure you in under false pretences and the rate you will end up paying could be the same as it is for male drivers. So just how do you find a reliable, female car insurance company?

Finding the Best Female Motor Insurance

A good way to find female motor insurance is to use a specialist broker. They will be able to search the market for you and bring back some of the best results tailored to your needs. Not only might you benefit from female only insurance, but there could be other discounts you are entitled to too. For example, if your car is kept in a garage and you keep a wheel lock on it as well as an alarm, then that would make it difficult to steal. Insurance companies would look favourably at that and you could be offered a reduced rate. The same applies if you drive fewer miles than average. Obviously the less you drive, the less likely you are to have an accident and this will be reflected in your insurance.

By using a specialist broker, they will be able to search for female only insurance and get good, relevant quotes to suit you. They search literally hundreds of companies and do all of the hard work so you don't have to.

One thing you will have to take into account when looking for female only insurance, is if you want to include your partner or your son on your insurance policy. If you do then you may not be able to qualify for a lower insurance rate. Some female only companies will only allow female drivers on their policy so you will need to state on your search if you do plan to include males on your policy. Overall female drivers could benefit significantly from specific female car insurance.

Green Car Insurance - The New Way Forward?

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

Nowadays everyone is looking for a way to make their lives a little greener, and there are hundreds of ways to go about it. Previously making a difference to the environment focused on recycling your wine bottles and changing all your light bulbs to the energy saving variety.

Fast forward a few years and there are now hundreds of weird and wonderful ways to save the planet. Holiday companies offer you the opportunity to offset the carbon emissions from your plane journey by paying a small sum which could be used to plant trees.

Supermarkets offer incentives in you take back your plastic bags for another shopping run. Even banks have been known to entice customers with green accounts which pay a small dividend to various green causes. It seems that across all areas of a person's life there are ways to make it greener, and now that even extends to cars.

Motoring has never been thought of as a green pursuit. In fact for years driving your car was considered one of the worst ways to pollute the environment. In particular anyone who purchased a 4x4 vehicle; once the preserve of country folk and now the fashion accessory of trendy young mums; was considered positively against the environment. But things have started to change. Firstly a new range of green cars were released onto the market, which included fuel hybrids that claimed to be less polluting. Next came small city cars, some of which could run on electricity, which were defiantly less polluting. There was a brief spell when auto-gas was available as a lower cost lower pollution option.

Now there are websites springing up all over the internet offering advice on how to navigate through the green car maze and choose the best environmentally friendly motoring option for you. And it is not just the younger generation who are in on the act, driving greener cars has become popular with people across the board.

It was not surprising considering the way things were going, that after the introduction of green cars, green car insurance would follow. One such insurance provider is The Green Insurance Company, who claims that they will offset the environmentally unfriendliness of any car insured with them by planting trees. In addition they give 5 percent of their profits to charity and offer cheaper insurance deals for drivers of low emission vehicles.

The company has been built on an ethos of 'reduce, recycle and reuse' and acts on this by recycling as much of a car's metal as possible if it has been written off and encouraging the use of reconditioned car parts where possible. It almost sounds too good to be true. Could this be the new way forward for car insurance, where green behaviours are rewarded with additional discounts and continual action to save the environment is carried out as a major part of the business. It seems that with the current popularity of the green trend amongst all sectors that this could be the case.
