This could be defined as an almost desperate need for a solution. Examples of crying needs are a parent of a learning disabled child needing information, an accident victim in need of pain relief, a business without revenue needing marketing. Sure there are businesses built on needs other than crying needs, but they do better during easier economic times and struggle during challenging times.
