The idiot that is Nick Lowles

Nick Lowles is an anti-extremist campaigner and writes for Searchlight Magazine he also tweets a lot too. Searchlight's "mandate" as they put it is to campaign Against Racism and Fascism as part of the Hope not Hate campaign. Essentially what they do is only campaign against the BNP and the EDL whilst ignoring real racism or fascism exhibited by anyone other than white people. In other words it's a typical lefty/socialist site full of blinkered Trots and their fellow travellers, you know the type, the ones who believe "only white people can be racist."
Normally I don't give them the time of day, but in their continuing attempts to somehow link the EDL to the Norway massacre, I felt this article couldn't go unanswered.

Anders Behring Breivik was in contact with the English Defence League, supported its aims and was involved in the Norwegian Defence League, Searchlight can reveal.

Only months before he went on his murderous killing spree he exchanged numerous messages with EDL supporters using his internet pseudonym Sigurd Jorsalfare, after the 12th century King of Norway who led one of the Crusades.

In one message on the EDL forum, dated 9 March 2011, he wrote:

Now clearly the EDL would have to be clairvoyant to somehow know that a) Sigurd Jorsalfare was Anders Behring Breivik and b) that somehow he was going to kill all those people before 22 July 2011. But why let facts get in the way of a good conspiracy theory.

"Hello. To you all good English men and women, just wanted to say that you're a blessing to all in Europe, in these dark times all of Europe are looking to you in surch [sic] of inspiration, courage and even hope that we might turn this evil trend with islamisation all across our continent. Well, just wanted to say keep up the good work it's good to see others that care about their country and heritage. All the best to you all Sigurd".

Clear signs of being an utter nutter there, I've said worse here about Islam and its adherents and no, oddly enough I don't feel any urges to go and kill the youth wing of the Labour Party.

In another posting he attacked Britain's multicultural society and expressed his interested in joining an EDL demonstration:

"i've seen with my own eyes what has happened to england, i was in bradford some years ago, me and a friend walked down to the football stadium of bradford, real Cnice' neighborhood, same thing in the suburbs of london. well thinking about taking a little trip over the sea and join you in a demo. would be nice with a norwegian flag alongside with union jack or the english flag, that is if a norwegian would be welcome offcourse?"

Again as this was asked before 22 July 2011 he would have been made welcome had he turned up (he didn't) with a Norwegian flag as at an EDL demo a lot of flags of different nations are flown from their supporters from all over the world.

Breivik was told by EDL supporters that he would be most welcome, to which he replied: "I hoped so:) it's our common struggle against the islamofacists."

EDL supporters were keen to have his support. 'Concerned' replied: 'Bravo sigurd admire your views and courage. no surrender and welcome."

Again, why would he not be made welcome on an EDL forum, can anyone see any reason why someone calling themselves  Sigurd Jorsalfare would not be welcome? No insults, no threats, just an intro and a indication he'd like to come to an EDL demo.

Among the EDL supporters in dialogue with Breivik was someone who uses the name "ujac". He is Darren Jackson, the Preston EDL Facebook administrator and the organiser of Casuals United, a group of football hooligans who threw their lot in with the EDL soon after it was formed. Jackson has extensive links with the Norwegian Defence League, including a friendship with Lena Andreassen, the group's organiser.

Ok, trust me on this, ujac is not  Darren Jackson though he does know him, nor was Breivik ever a member of the NDL or even knew of its existence, in his manifesto he mentioned trying to set up an NDL some 6 months after it had formed anyway.

In his exchange with "ujac" and others, Breivik boasted of his support for the NDL. Asked if he was active in the NDL, Breivik replied:
"I was but, the site has been put down now. There was to be a demo in Oslo on the 26 of February but after the police security service put us on the 'danger-list' the internet site was sadly shut down."

 No it wasn't the site is still there.

Perhaps more importantly than the individual contacts, Breivik and the EDL share the same ideology and worldview. There are numerous references in Breivik's 1,500-page book and internet postings to Fjordman, a Norwegian anti-Muslim blogger and writer. Fjordman is a strong supporter of the EDL and knows Alan Lake, the Christian fundamentalist who helped set up and funded the EDL.

Brievik said in his manifesto that the EDL were "naive fools ... that still believe the democratic system can solve Britain's problems" so clearly the same ideology at work there. Fjordman himself has stated that he never met Breivik and the Alan Lake thing is really stretching credulity as he never met Breivik either, but as he's a Christian and a millionaire he must be a bad guy.

Among those whom Lake believes are worthy of execution are David Cameron, Nick Clegg and the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Following last week's atrocities, Lake wrote: "Apparently, in a long screed Anders Behring Breivik posted on line, he did this attack to protest against the way that Islam is taking over large parts of Europe. By attacking the leftist politicians that are enabling this, the chickens have actually come home to roost – altho I'm sure it won't be depicted that way."

Well it certainly wasn't by Nick Lowles and no the EDL have no plans to massacre anyone as the tagline on their site states "If you, like us, are fed up and sick to the back teeth of Islamic Extremism in the UK, then sign up and join the struggle with the English Defence League and start protesting peacefully with us today"
Not exactly what Breivik wanted or most of the left come to that who seek to demonise what they don't understand but instinctively hate.

There is a saying that "A lie can be halfway around the world before the truth can get its boots on" and this seems to be the case in speculation about Anders Brehing Breivik and his links to the so called "Far Right" in the UK.

Anders Behring Breivik, the man accused of the murder of at least 92 Norwegians in a bomb and gun massacre, boasted online about his discussions with the far-right English Defence League and other anti-Islamic European organisations.

Well, I can't speak for all the EDL, I'm just an ordinary guy who supports them, however I can confirm from what I do know from various people higher up in the organisation is that until yesterday the EDL had not heard of him before.

He is thought to have posted messages on a Norwegian website expressing admiration for the EDL and an extremist group called Stop Islamification of Europe.
It is Breivik’s online profile that has provided the authorities with most information about him so far.
His Facebook page, which was blocked soon after the killings, listed his interests as bodybuilding, ‘conservative politics’ and freemasonry. He also had a liking for violent video games and American TV drama series Dexter, about a forensic blood spatter pattern expert with the Miami police who hunts down and kills criminals in his spare time.

THE Right-wing psychopath behind ­Norway’s bloodbath was involved with the English Defence League, the Sunday Express has learned.

Twisted Anders Behring Breivik, who left 92 dead in a co-ordinated bomb and gun rampage, advised the EDL how to stir up anti-Islamic hatred.

He not only admired the far-Right group, but also harboured dreams of setting up Norway’s version to combat the country’s growing Muslim population.

This is also untrue, there already is a Norwegian Defence League, has been for months and no they haven't heard of him either.

I also have a few questions about this entire incident myself, perhaps they'll be answered one day though it might take a while.

1. If Anders Behring Breivik was anti-Islam, why didn't he attack a mosque rather than government buildings on a day when the government was not working?
2. How come he only set up his Facebook and twitter accounts 5 days ago. Straight away he is on FB with right wing stuff, and only one tweet. According to the Huffington Post he did have a Stormfront account which is no longer available and the Stormfront site is also apparently down.
3. I do not believe that one man could assemble and prime a massive car bomb and set it off, all on his own. Then slip away, disguise himself as a policemen, travel 20 miles across the land connecting the two fjords, commandeer a boat (or passage on a boat) to travel across to the island, carrying nothing more than the unremarkable weapon a police officer would normally have to hand (as he doesn’t seem to have excited any suspicion until he opened fire on the assembled teenagers) whereupon he shoots 70+ people dead (some of the 93 deaths so far, for which he is responsible are by drowning while trying to escape). The A team couldn’t have managed that and there were 4 of them. And their adventures were fiction.
4. If, as we are told, the Norwegian Prime Minister was due at the Island that day, why was the place not crawling with security as you just know it would be days before any such visit.

Personally I don’t believe that a ‘right wing Christian conservative’ gunman who hates Muslims and admires the EDL went berserk alone to kill 100 teenagers simply because that’s what right wing Christian conservatives do. Yet that, despite the evidence is exactly what the press want us to believe.

Are they mad?

Ok, Osama bin Laden was attacked and killed in a million dollar mansion in one of the nicer parts of Islamabad.*
I can sort of live with that, even if Pakistan is supposedly a sovereign country and the people doing the attacking were U.S. special forces. After all someone fairly high up in the Pakistani government and their security services must have been complicit in allowing him to remain there, unless he was a complete hermit in that time complete with supposed kidney failure then I cannot believe that someone there did not know.
But they killed him and then buried him at sea?
Can you see conspiracy theorists sprouting from the internet faster than you can say photoshopped? because I certainly can. OK I accept that any grave-site would instantly become some sort of shrine to the daft bastards who believe the only good non Islamist is a dead non Islamist, but they didn't have to bury him in an Islamic country, somewhere in Area 51 would have done just fine alongside all those aliens who keep visiting.
But now there's no body, no proof other than the words of the soldiers and some photographs. Have they forgotten that some people are convinced Elvis is still alive? I can almost promise you that OBL will be spotted any time soon working down the local chipshop wearing an Elvis wig. (or something like that) After all, his followers are convinced we're all liars anyway and under the control of Zionists and look there's no body so at best we killed one of his numerous body doubles!
Then again perhaps he's not dead just enjoying a bit of waterboarding in Guantanamo...

So tell us something we don't know

Apparently Labour lied to us about immigration according to Lord Glasman, one of Ed Miliband’s most senior advisers in an interview for the May edition of Progress magazine in which he tells us something we already knew and had raged about.

One of Ed Miliband’s most senior advisers has accused the last Labour government of “lying” about immigration and blamed the party for the rise of the far Right.

Ah yes, the "Far Right" one of Labours fearsome shibboleths to browbeat anyone who questioned their policies of rubbing the right's noses in multiculturalism, along with racist and bigot. Not that the right were any of those things nor were the right likely to be affected by those things either, no, the burden of coping with mass immigration fell as usual on the urban working class, Labours core vote and hardly an example of the "Far Right" at all.

Lord Glasman claimed that working class men were unable to talk about the matters important to them at Labour Party meetings without being labelled sexist or racist. 

He added: “There was no public discussion of immigration and its benefits. In fact there was a very hard rhetoric combined with a very loose policy going on.

“Labour lied to people about the extent of immigration and the extent of illegal immigration and there’s been a massive rupture of trust.”

No shit Sherlock.

Calling on “progressive” people to recognise their “responsibility for the generation of far-Right populism,” Lord Glasman suggested that Labour was partly responsible for the rise in organisations such as the English Defence League, which was founded in 2009 and organises street marches against Islamic extremism.

He said: “You consider yourself... so opposed that you don’t want to talk to them, you don’t want to engage with them, you don’t want anybody with views like that anywhere near the party.”

This, Lord Glasman said, meant that party members ignored “a hate and rage against us” from working class people “who have always been true to Labour”.

“Working class men can’t really speak at Labour Party meetings about what causes them grief, concerns about their family, concerns about immigration, love of country, without being falsely stereotyped as sexist, racist, nationalist,” he said.

Far Right populism? I presume he's not talking about a free market economy where goods and service prices are kept low by competition amongst companies and workers over wages and prices as well as low taxation.
No, "Far Right" is the Labour and MSM codeword for racists, or those who they have tarred with the racist brush, despite the fact that the only supposed "Far Right" political party (BNP) is somewhat to the left of Labour when it comes to economics. Nor are the other group the EDL "Far Right" they aren't even political, though they do seek a peaceful political solution to extreme Islam and mass immigration. Recently they've even started a campaign to force the MSM to drop the "Far Right" tag by a letter writing campaign along with complaints to the Press Complaints Commission.
Facts are as anyone who studies politics will tell you is that National Socialism and Fascism are both the bastard offspring of the far left and contain many of the lefts thoughts and philosophies in their make up, they are only termed "Far Right" to differentiate them from the "Far Left" in the same way that Monty Python took to town the various Jewish factions in "The Life of Brian" In a sense National Socialism and Fascism are the "splitters" in the family of the left in that they encompass nationalism rather than internationalism.
In essence that's where Labour really failed the working class, they became too wrapped up in multiculturalism and internationalism and ignored the ordinary patriotic folk who under normal circumstances would vote a donkey with a red rosette into parliament (and frequently did) to the extent that they took it upon themselves to vote for people and join organisations who said they'd do something about it.
Not right wing organisations as Lord Glasman and many on the left would like to have us believe, but simply groups and parties who said we'll do something about it. And it's taken how many years before anyone in Labour would even come out and admit that they deliberately dumped on their core support and had the gall to deny that there was a problem, indeed anyone who raised concerns was immediately labelled a racist, bigot, nationalist, right winger, etc.
So tell us something we didn't know Lord Glasman, because what you said in that interview we've known for years...

Seems every year now we get some sort of health scare, not just the get your flu jabs kind, but a potential pandemic plague of biblical proportions. It's reached the stage where after the super flu and the bird flu along with swine flu people are just shrugging their shoulders and wondering what all the fuss is about.

ONLY worldwide mass vaccinations can prevent a possible deadly flu pandemic, experts warned yesterday. People under 50 are at risk of the H2N2 strain – similar to the H1N1 swine flu virus that struck fear across the world in 2009.

Four million people are thought to have died in the last devastating global outbreak of the H2N2 bug in the 1950s and 1960s. A vaccine was produced but the jabs programme was stopped in the late 1960s. It means older people may still be protected but younger people will be at risk because they missed out on the doses. The virus is still present today among birds and swine. Dr Gary Nabel, of the US Vaccine Research Centre in Maryland, said: “Our study suggests people under 50 have little or no immunity.

“Resistance also dramatically increases for those older than 50.” He added: “One approach would be to manufacture the vaccine produced in 1957 and immunise enough of the world’s population to provide ‘herd immunity’ to the rest.”

I probably won't bother, this is of course my choice and I don't have a problem with anyone else getting the jabs, though I'm highly suspicious at the death tolls and scaremongering that has gone on with the various non-existent (it seems) pandemics that  have the various news agencies, doctors and politicians up in arms every year. I'm even at the stage now where I think that these scares are simply a way to try and keep the population living in a state of fear as well as lining the pockets of big drug companies, you can only take so much hype after all and this no longer pushes any buttons of mine, not that it ever has.
Over the years I've become so jaded with various official and MSM announcements about things I should fear that I'm probably in grave danger of risk if something really dangerous comes along, simply because I won't believe them, such has been their effect on my life. I'm not quite at the stage where I'd go out and spot check any politician who tells me the sun will rise in the East, but it's getting close and I'm certainly at the stage where I'd be trying to figure out his angle in telling me. Those in authority and to a certain extent the MSM have by their lies and their general obfuscation and unwillingness to make any statement without various caveats and conditions have lost the confidence and trust of the people they are supposed to be representing. Multi-culturalism, global warming, the EU, immigration, foreign wars, all lied about, all defended to the point of idiocy and still being rammed down our throats as if they are sacred cows to be defended at all costs. It strikes me that in many issues the general public are way ahead of the righteous, certainly in common sense at any rate. Yet at the back of my mind there is the fear that all their machinations might just leave a Pandora's box open one day because we wont believe a word they say which is just another reason to despise them, even if it will be too late.
I'll take my chances with H2N2, I'm over 50 after all, but I am so tired of all the scare stories, the problem is they don't scare any more, they're mostly just sensationalised. So I'll take my chances and just hope that if something really nasty comes along I'll recognise it and do something about it, I'm probably statistically pushing my luck, but I'm definitely not alone.

Two homes in Luton were attacked late last night – their windows smashed and the word EDL painted on the front door – just hours after the English Defence League’s (EDL) racist protest through Luton town centre.

The houses are on the edge of Bury Park – where many Asian people live.

Mr Iqbal lives with his mother, brother and sister in one of the houses. He told Socialist Worker, “It happened at around 11.40pm. I was awake but about to go to sleep. I heard a crash and ran to the front of the house to find a brick had been thrown through a window. When I opened the front door, I saw someone had painted EDL on it.

“I couldn’t sleep – I thought they may come back.”

Mr Iqbal is a Muslim. The other house that was attacked belonged to a neighbour a few doors away – who is a Christian.

There is a crucifix on the front of the house, which the bigots of the EDL seemed to miss. The residents stayed up all night, fearful of further attacks.

1) The EDL had long since left Luton, nor did they deviate from the march.
2) Mr Iqbal said his house was painted on, yet the paint is on the Christian house with the crucifix, unless Mr Iqbal is a very unusual Muslim.
3) The graffiti does not read EDL, that's either a G or a C or just possibly a very strange S, certainly not an E. (Yes the EDL can spell their name)
4) It seems very fortuitous that a Socialist Worker reporter just happened to be there to interview Mr Iqbal.
5) The Socialist Worker has form for this sort of lie, they had an attack on a Bolton Mosque down to the EDL, when it was a local man who was arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article and breaking into a vehicle 500 yards away.

Well here's to you Mr Robinson

 The BBC Newsnight did a section on the EDL last night with Jeremy Paxman interviewing the EDL's "self styled" (the BBC's description not mine) leader Stephen Lennon or  Tommy Robinson as he's known to the EDL and pretty much anyone else.



The intro by the BBC Asia Network presenter Catrin Nye who had been following the EDL leader around for 6 months clearly showed that the BBC are struggling to deal with the concept of the EDL with its multicultural, multiracial, multi ethnic and non sexist following. In six months all they managed to do was drop in some video scenes of demo's to show various chants and occasional violence at EDL marches, some of them clearly not EDL but the various groups that oppose the EDL. The interview afterwards with Paxman itself also failed to nail the EDL leader who held his ground and even tripped Paxman himself up at one stage when he tried to put words into his mouth.
The problem the BBC have with Tommy Robinson is he's genuine, he really believes what he's saying and it's struck a chord with a lot of people. No, he's not polished (but he's getting better) and he's no politician either (a good thing) but he more than held his own against Paxman who could only bring up facebook as an example of EDL racism, knowing full well anyone can write on a facebook wall and yes the EDL know facebook is a bit of a liability for them, but it is the way a lot of people in the EDL communicate with each other. If you want to see the real EDL though look at their forum instead, this is where a lot of their policy gets discussed, this was also where the the Pastor Terry Jones invite was discussed, criticised and ended up being rejected by the EDL leadership.
The next charge that was thrown was that white people are also paedophiles, well it's certainly true, though they don't tend to congregate in gangs at school gates and force prostitution on their victims by plying them with drink and drugs. Nor have they any protection from the law by screaming "racist" at them, nor does the white community protect them.
Robinson was clearly nervous, but he did well, Paxman was unable to demolish him as he has effortlessly done with pompous politicians. The EDL are no saints, but they are not racist (though they have had a problem with racists) they are not homophobic (though again they have had problems with homophobes) they support Israel, which mortifies the BBC and are clearly multicultural in a way the establishment struggle to comprehend. In essence they are sectarian and this is a concept the mainstream media and politicians in the UK (with the possible exception of Northern Ireland) clearly struggle to grasp. What's worse from their perspective is that the EDL continues to grow and evolve and is now costing them a lot of money in their efforts to contain it, though this mostly goes on efforts to try and keep the EDL's opponents from attacking them as well as the police, where there has been no opposition to the EDL during a demo there's been no violence so the link is fairly obvious.
The most telling thing about the interview is that the BBC did not invite comment from any opposition group such as the UAF. Oh I'm sure they would have had something to say, problem is though the entire BBC presentation demolished the whole racist, fascist, violent spiel that they use to describe the EDL. They would have looked stupid, so in this instance the BBC were smart to keep them away.
As it was, the EDL came out of the whole thing looking like normal, concerned citizens, not articulate and polished by any means, but clearly at odds to the media image. Yes the demo's frighten some people, but it keeps the media focussed on what the EDL see as a problem so it works well for the EDL. Where the real power of the EDL lies though is in its varied membership (though there's no official membership as such) Feet on the street counts for a lot particularly when it gets reported accurately in the MSM and all credit to the guys and gals that do this, brave souls and frontline warriors. Behind this though are the milder types who work behind the scenes, refuting stories where the EDL are misrepresented in the media as well as forums and blogs, dealing with misconceptions with a well aimed sentence or a withering comment. The truth after all is out there to be found and the facts about the real EDL are easy enough to find if you go looking. There are also Islamic experts too, informing all who come to the EDL forums about Islam and it's various practices. Some are in all 3 groups, others in only one or two, but their value to the cause shouldn't be underestimated or denigrated which is where the MSM and the righteous have it all wrong. They think they can undermine, disrupt or ignore the EDL, they can't, it's not a phenomenon they really understand as it stands outside their world view and experience.
All in all this was an own goal for the BBC, the EDL didn't come across as anything like they were accused of and their leader did not get Paxmanned as a lot expected.
Wonder what they'll do next.

The turning wheels

Climate change, Climate disruption, Global warming (what the hell I'm a traditionalist and I like nailing warmists to the mast) started to unravel almost as soon as the phrase was invoked. A lot of scientists went along with it following the money, but a hard core dug their heels in faster than you could say hockey stick and said, hold on a minute this doesn't match what's actually going on. Unfortunately politicians had decided that they needed an excuse to wave in front of the public to justify their raid on our money via taxation for all those lovely bird choppers and climate levies on our fuel bills. So essentially truth became a casualty in the ongoing debate of whether or not mankind was responsible for warming the planet up, but the fightback was growing apace and slowly but surely the warmist camp were being forced onto the back foot as data continually showed they were talking out of their adjusted figures, 3 cold winters on the run didn't help either nor their support from the wilder side of the environmental movement. The so called "climategate" or "CRUtape" leak however tipped the balance, the "proof" skeptics had been looking for was suddenly out into the public arena and for all it's taken a couple of years and two cover ups investigations finally some politicians are taking note of what's going on in the minds of people in the real world.

TWO inquiries into claims that scientists manipulated data about global warming were yesterday condemned by MPs as ineffective and too secretive.
The row, which became known as Climategate, erupted in 2009 over allegations that researchers had deliberately strengthened evidence suggesting human activity was to blame for rising temperatures.
MPs on the Science and Technology Committee have now concluded that both probes into the scandal had failed to “fully investigate” claims that scientists had deleted embarrassing emails.

The investigations were set up after around 4,000 leaked emails and documents appeared to show that scientists at East Anglia University’s Climate Research Unit had manipulated data to strengthen the case for man-made global warming.

UEA’s Independent Climate Change Emails Review was led by Sir Muir Russell, while the Scientific Appraisal Panel was led by Lord Oxburgh.

But the MPs said they had “reservations” about both inquiries.

They criticised the brevity of the appraisal panel report, at “a mere five pages”, and said both investigations should have been more open to the public.

The committee also said the emails review “did not fully investigate the serious allegation” relating to the deletion of emails and instead relied on a verbal reassurance that the messages still exist.

Though the committee was split over the credibility of the inquiries, an amendment put forward by Labour MP Graham Stringer which said that they had not been independent was voted down by members.

He said Lord Oxburgh appeared to have a “conflict of interest” because of his links to green businesses while the Emails Review panel included a former Climate Research Unit scientist.

Yes, it's mostly MP's covering their arses, but it does give the first official signs that some MP's are starting to get worried by the web of lies and deceit implicit in the leaked documents and aren't very happy with the findings of the two investigations. It's a shame Labour MP Graham Stringer's amendment didn't get through, but that I suspect would have taken a miracle and run headlong into the administrations ultimate policy of milking us for all we're worth.
The warmists are losing the battle, they know this, but are still hell bent on getting as much cash for research out of the system before it all goes tits up, same with the government, one day someone will pull the plug and scapegoat hunting season will begin. MP's are notoriously good at shifting the blame, pro warming scientists and environmental groups should remember this, it wont be MP's who are hung out to dry, they'll just claim they were badly misinformed by the scientist and enviroloon movement. MP's will move onto the next great cash cow, probably biodiversity unless we hang them all first.

Regrets

I have to be honest here, I was one of the millions taken in by Tony Blair and his case for invading Iraq, though in this case it was more about who organised and lead the "Stop the War" coalition rather than any belief in what Blair was saying. It was more of a case of what the far left support = bad for the country, still even a stopped clock can be right twice a day and I shouldn't have let my prejudices colour my actions or thoughts. I'm a bit less naive now, though I could never see me walking alongside them nor sharing a platform with them save in the most general terms. I saw them in action during the Poll Tax riots and recently during the Student Fees riots. I want nothing to do with the violent left or right in this country, I have areas where my views would be considered extreme, but I wouldn't force them on anyone, hope to persuade yes, but not with lies and not at the threat of violence. Sooner or later the chickens do come home to roost.

Tony Blair was heckled during emotional scenes at the Chilcot Inquiry as the former prime minister expressed regret for the loss of life in the Iraq war.
Mr Blair told the inquiry into the conflict that he regretted "deeply and profoundly" the deaths of British troops and Iraqi civilians.
Members of the audience watching him give evidence jeered at his comments, with one person shouting: "It's too late."
Mr Blair sparked anger among the families of the 179 UK personnel killed in Iraq between 2003 and 2009 when he insisted he had no regrets about the war at the end of his first appearance before the inquiry last year.
His voice cracking with emotion, he told the inquiry panel: "At the conclusion of the last hearing, you asked me whether I had any regrets.
"I took that as a question about the decision to go to war, and I answered that I took responsibility. 

Mr Blair said regime change in Baghdad had always been ''on the agenda'' for the Americans after the 9/11 attacks in 2001. He acknowledged that it had come up when he spoke to Mr Bush by telephone on December 3 that year.

''Regime change was their policy so regime change was part of the discussion,'' he said. ''If it became the only way of dealing with this issue, we were going to be up for that.''

He added: ''The Americans, from September 11 onwards, this was on their agenda.''

I realise that we do tend to follow somewhat slavishly what the Americans want when it comes to their foreign policy, that said, when it comes to war abroad my feelings have changed. We should not be involved in extended foreign wars, if we do need to go in, it should be fast and with surgical precision then out again. Once our objectives have been met. This should of course only be the final resort after all other means have been eliminated, even then if it can be done without putting feet on the ground it should be, though I'm not so naive to believe that it can in all cases.
But what I do object too is being lied to by politicians, not Just Blair, but all of them, the term honourable member when it comes to parliamentarians has become an oxymoron, they lie, they steal they cheat and they took us into wars in countries where we should never have gone, costing us the lives of soldiers and civilians as well as stirring up a further hornets nest of Islamic extremism (yes I know the Islamic extremists started this). But what I hate most about Blair over this is that he gave the left who hate this country with a passion the moral high ground over this, he's actually made it much more harder to deal with future problems like this without his name and actions being dragged into the equation. Blair's legacy for this country has left us with a riven society, extremists in our midst planning terrorist outrages, our security forces at full stretch combating these, the loss of civil liberties, the trampling over of ancient rights and the trust we had in politicians weakened to the point of contempt for the profession, not that it's ever been particularly high, but some politicians managed to rise above the herd, Thatcher, Powell, even Lord Tebbit, oddly enough I can't think of many on the Labour side of things though and I certainly don't believe any of the current lot can rise so hight, though I did have hope for David Davis until Cameron sidelined him through his actions on personal freedom. Nor can I help but laugh at the current Labour and Lib Dem dwarfs on the benches, well I would laugh if it wasn't so serious, these are pretty much in the same mould of Blair's parliament, who would sell us all out given the means and the opportunity for 30 pieces of silver, look at their actions over the EU after all.

I wondered at the time why the government removed the death penalty for treason, I suspect I know now.

Unfortunately we are living in interesting times.

Far-right group's meeting cancelled by pub

A pub landlord has shut the door on the English Defence League after they hired out a function room under a different name.

The Kent branch of the EDL – a far-right group set up last year to oppose the spread of Islamic extremism across the country - had made plans to hold a meeting at O'Connells, Chatham, at 8pm tonight.

Labour councillor Vince Maple, who actively campaigns for the Love Music Hate Racism campaign, said the pub had now cancelled the booking.

"I have spoken to pub and police and they confirmed, unsurprisingly, that the room was booked in a different name and the pub had no idea the EDL were planning to use their venue.

"They have now confirmed there will be no meeting of any description tomorrow."

Chief Inspector Peter de Lozey added: "Kent police in Medway have been made aware that there is information circulating that the English Defence League plan to hold a meeting tonight at a public house in Medway.

"We have spoken with the licensee of the pub in question and have been advised that the meeting will not be going ahead."

So being interested in the EDL I set off to do some checking and yes this was the case, in order to avoid trouble from various groups opposed to the EDL the local division decided to use a different name to hire the room. Unfortunately secrecy does not work in these cases particularly where facebook is concerned and details of the meeting were free to all, so a bit of an own goal for the EDL division there.
That said, there's the usual misinformation being thrown around by the media and the Labour party guy too.
The EDL are not right wing, they're a multi ethnic, multi racial, multi sexual single issue protest group, they certainly have right wing members (right wing as in Tory/UKIP) but they also have a good few left wing members as well, as any check on their forum will tell you.
Pub landlords have the right to bar anyone from their premises if they don't want them there, I have no problem with that, they also have the right to take the consequences in loss of trade and income too, the EDL meet in pubs and spend money, you'd have thought in these days of pub closures the cash would be useful though I suspect the real reason is ignorance fuelled by lies and propaganda from Vince Maple who clearly doesn't understand a genuine working class movement when he sees one, preferring to believe the socialist line that working class movements should be socialist controlled and not spontaneous.
The meeting did go ahead however in a different pub (Cricketers Arms, Rainham) after offers were made to the division on the news breaking, also the EDL have learned the lesson and no longer hide who they are, the poppy day disgrace having turned the tide of public opinion away from the states pets and given the EDL a far higher and better profile in the public's eye than previously due to the unceasing negative press they got from the MSM and socialists in general. 
As a member of the EDL said 

"Was speaking with one of the fb group last night ref this, its a bad move to not inform any landlord of a pub as to what group you are. We held a meeting when Kent with one division in a pub in Chatham and we were up front with the landlord who by the way is mixed race and there were no problems, you need to be honest and not ashamed. The next meet and greet is being held in Dover and has the full consent of the landlord so there wont be no drama, just be honest is the best way."

So lessons learned, I suspect naivete from the EDL rather than any complex plan to deliberately cover up who they are, trying to avoid trouble rather than inviting it, yes it came back to bite them and they learned a lesson from it, I doubt it will be repeated.

Another broken promise

The Coagulation when they came to power had made certain promises one of which was to give those accused of rape the same anonymity as the accuser until convicted. Rape itself is a horrific crime and those who are found guilty of it should have the most severe of sentences handed down to them, however the stigma of being simply accused of being a rapist has driven innocent men to suicide, wrecked lives, wrecked relationships, cost jobs and left men in a position of social stigma under the "there's no smoke without fire" type of reaction that passes for thinking amongst certain people.

Julia at Ambush Predator has a whole series of stories about false accusations and the often pitiful sentences handed down to those who falsely accuse men, a seemingly not as rare as they'd like you to believe accusation still called by the police as extremely rare.

CRITICS last night attacked the Government after ministers backed down on a key pledge to give anonymity to those accused of rape.

Announcing the U-turn, Justice Minister Crispin Blunt told MPs there was insufficient evidence to justify giving the protection to those accused and on trial for serious sex attacks.

The move drew praise from women’s rights groups, but it also re-ignited fears that dropping the pledge would lead to more men being tarnished by faked allegations.

Former MP Neil Hamilton, who was falsely accused of rape nearly a decade ago along with his wife Christine, said: “If the victim has a right to anonymity the alleged perpetrator should be entitled to it until conviction.”

In 2003 Nadine Milroy-Sloan was jailed for three years after telling police the Hamiltons had raped her.

Yesterday Mr Hamilton warned: “Not having anonymity for the accused makes it easy for the unscrupulous to abuse the system at the expense of the victim. That’s not justice.

“Even though Christine and I knew we were innocent, we went through a lot of stress and indignity. We were facing seven years in jail.”

In May the Coalition Government said: “We will extend anonymity in rape cases to defendants.”

You'd think it would be simple enough, I really don't see why the women’s rights groups are up in arms about it, it's not likely to deter women from reporting rape as far as I can see. Or could it just be that they hate men so much that they even want the innocent to suffer along with the guilty?

But after criticism from Labour and women’s rights groups it became clear the plans were unworkable.

Last night, Shadow Justice Minister Helen Goodman said: “We welcome this U-turn.”

Unworkable how? If the victim is allowed anonymity, so should the accused, if he's innocent then he's the victim and it can and has lead to horrendous suffering for the guy involved, with the false accuser just given a slap on the wrist and left to go on her way.

If politicians want people to trust them, keeping your promises is a good way to go about it!

BBC, deliberately missing a story?

An event happened yesterday, I mentioned it in my blog post Disgraceful, where I mentioned that an extremist Muslim group were going to try and disrupt a Remembrance Day ceremony in Kensington. They did and produced quite a reaction, though possibly not one they quite expected, though no doubt they are unrepentant about that. I doubt the MAC (Muslims Against Crusaders) were even aware that the Ceremony also commemorates Muslim dead too, though even if they were I doubt it would stop this group.
Fortunately a good few Patriots of the English Defence League were there to make their point about the utter lack of respect shown, though again the media seems to have (deliberately) gotten the numbers wrong not 50, but approximately 150 to 200 and this was at less than 24 hours notice and included members from all over the country as far as Leeds. Nor did the EDL disrupt the ceremony or the 2 minute silence, to make their point they en masse simply turned their back on the MAC only clashing with them after when they burned a poppy.

Notice the missing outlet? That would be the BBC who for some strange reason seem very reluctant to mention the protest or indeed any story critical of the Religion of Peace. Even the MCB came out in criticism of the protest, and Labour MP Khalid Mahmood put the boot in saying "These people have no regard or respect for the people who are prepared to give their lives for the country, and if they don’t like it they can hop it and leave. They have these rights to protest that are afforded to them because people have given their lives up for those rights. To have these people behave like this is absolutely ridiculous. It’s complete nonsense and despicable."
More and more people are turning to the internet and the blogging world to find out what's happening because the MSM even when it deigns to report something, inevitably slants it to fit their agenda twisting the facts or parsing the grammar to give an impression of something that simply isn't the case. In this instance with the BBC I suspect it was that they were unable in any circumstances to present the EDL in a negative light, so they simply ignored the story altogether.

The founder of the English Defence League (EDL) has been charged with assaulting a police officer during a confrontation with Islamic protesters.

Stephen Lennon, 27 of Luton, was held as the Muslims Against Crusades group burnt poppies in Kensington, west London, during a two-minute silence to mark the anniversary of Armistice Day.
Five other members of EDL have been arrested on suspicion of affray.

Sky lies

Sky News reports that during the EDL/UAF static demo's yesterday...

Powell said around 200 EDL protesters broke through a police cordon at the end of the demonstration and attacked the Sky News truck and a police car.

"Protesters started to charge against the cordon and it was clear the police were not going to be able to hold them back," Powell said.

I was in Leicester today with my wife, and was caught up with the demonstrations of the EDL and UAF.
Now I am no friend of the EDL or UAF, but as a shop steward within a national industry, I am fully aware of the beliefs of both political ism' of the political right and left.
I am a firm believer in the truth, but what I saw today was very different from what the media has told us. Yes I saw the EDL being very vocal, which was intense, but I saw no extreme actions from the EDL. What I did see was extreme behaviour from the UAF, which seemed focused on encouraging the Muslim population to riot.
The attack on the sky van was not by the EDL as reported, by Sky, but rather by the UAF.
We was stood by the sky van watching the demonstration, when my wife was attacked by the UAF because she had a St Georges flag on her T shirt.
Now being ex military I am actively involved in charities looking after ex and serving military personal. What I am hearing tonight from the military internet sites is very alarming, as 25 UAF thugs attacked 6 soldiers outside Leicester train station today. From what we understand the squaddies gave the UAF a bloody nose, and amazingly the police let the UAF go without any charges.

As ever the media seem to gloss over the activities of the Brownshirt UAF whilst constantly harping on and villifying the EDL. Now as you may be aware as an English nationalist, I'm no real friend of the EDL, the only English thing about them is the name, they are first and foremost a British organisation, holding up British working class values. Yet every time I investigate just what is going on at their demo's I come away with a completely different version to the "official" MSM version. More often than not it's the numbers involved, then it's the slanting of the story to paint the EDL in the worst possible light. Even down to plain outright lies, and the public is starting to notice which is making the denunciations and spin all the more aggressive as I believe that the establishment have realised they are losing control both over their thugs and the people of this country and their natural tolerance.
The John Cruddas CIF article is typical of the establishment and the left in this country, they see a threat yet can't understand why or how it's happening. Yet it was Labours desire to rub the "Right's" nose in multiculturalism that undermined its own support from the working class. The "Righteous" left of the Islington set (the so called champagne socialists) have no real idea of the damage they've done to working class communities by attempting to supplant them with a foreign and intolerant religious group. Nor are the "Common Purpose" trained senior officers aware of the alienation that is becoming ever more apparent where the police are seen as the enemy.
People are starting to see through the lies and the cracks in the system are becoming ever more apparent.

Bare faced lie

The government have said they are looking at getting rid of that unlikely badge of honour the ASBO. Labour of course want it kept, they seem to think it is/was a success, even claiming that crime rocketed under the Tories previous to 1997 and that somehow the ASBO fixed all this.

Labour has urged the government not to scrap anti-social behaviour orders (Asbos), claiming such a move would "leave communities helpless".

Shadow home secretary Alan Johnson said the orders, introduced in 1999, had been a "success".

He accused the coalition of a lack of commitment to tackling crime.

Last month Home Secretary Theresa May signalled Asbos could be scrapped in England and Wales, with police adopting a more "common sense" approach.

Ministry of Justice figures show 55% of the almost 17,000 Asbos issued between June 2000 and December 2008 were breached, leading to an immediate custodial sentence in more than half of the cases.

But Mr Johnson insisted the orders had worked, saying: "Everyone remembers that under the last Tory government crime rocketed and anti-social behaviour was classed as low-level nuisance and not taken seriously."

"This time around, Tory Home Secretary Theresa May is wrongly claiming that Asbos don't work.

That quote seemed a little wrong to me, so I did a little checking and up popped the British Crime Statistics 1997 - 2002. as reported in the Independent.

HOMICIDE
Position in 1997: Murder, manslaughter and infanticide accounted for 611 deaths in 1997, of which 133 were carried out with a sharp instrument.
What has Labour done? Home Office has brought tougher sentences for carrying illegal firearms. Crown Prosecution Service is cracking down on causing death by dangerous driving.
Position in 2002: There were 858 offences initially recorded as homicides in 2001-2002, compared with 849 last year. May be revised downward slightly but trend is upward.
Verdict: A problem. Home Office minister John Denham admitted the figures were "an area of real concern". Number of men fatally shot rose by 41 per cent last year.
VIOLENT CRIME
Position in 1997: Violent crime was tumbling when Labour came to power. The British Crime Survey of 1998 shows that violent offending fell by 17 per cent between 1995 and 1997.
What has Labour done? After criticisms over falling police numbers, Labour has bankrolled recruitment campaigns for more police officers and has backed growth of CCTV schemes.
Position in 2002: Quarterly crime figures to last September show a 23 per cent increase (2 per cent when adjusted for recording changes), but the long-term trend is downward.
Verdict: Mixed. Since 1997 the British Crime Survey suggests that violent offending has fallen by 27 per cent. But large sections of the public remain convinced otherwise.
FIREARMS
Position in 1997: The use of firearms in crime rose during the 1980s and early 1990s, peaking in 1993, after which it began to fall. By 1997-98 it had dropped to the same level as 1990.
What has Labour done? Faced with frightening levels of gun crime, the Home Secretary has announced five-year jail terms for gun possession and a ban on carrying replica weapons.
Position in 2002: Gun crime offences have risen sharply during the past two years, climbing by 35 per cent last year to a record high of 9,974 offences.
Verdict: A major failure. The annual rise in gun crime was the fourth in succession and ministers are only just realising the havoc being caused by drug wars.
BURGLARY
Position in 1997: Improvements in household security had begun to take effect by 1997 election. 1998 BCS shows burglary offences fell by 17 per cent between 1995 and 1997.
What has Labour done? Labour has not prioritised this area of crime but has claimed credit as the effects of security measures have continued to drive burglars into other areas of crime.
Position in 2002: The BCS shows that since 1997, burglaries have fallen by 39 per cent. But recorded crime statistics show burglaries rose by 5 per cent in that period.
Verdict: Mixed. The BCS shows that there has been a significant fall in the fear of burglary as public concerns have shifted towards being attacked on the streets.
ROBBERY
Position in 1997: An area that was rising when Labour came to power. Muggings increased by 1 per cent, with 390,000 offences reported to the BCS between 1995 and 1997.
What has Labour done? The growth in use of mobile phones has helped fuel a surge in robberies since the last election. Anti-Street Crime Initiative introduced in 10 urban police forces.
Position in 2002: Robbery went up by 13 per cent in the year to last September. But the last quarter of that year had a 10 per cent fall compared to the same period the year before.
Verdict: Still a major problem. Robbery remains a key area of concern and although the overall numbers are falling, only six of the 10 big city forces hit their targets.

A Mixed batch, however the records appear to show in many areas that crime was actually falling in some areas under the Tories, particularly robbery, firearms and homicide and increased under Labour. So crime hadn't rocketed at all and Alan Johnson is lying and trying to kid us, When it comes to anti-social behaviour though a quick google produced these results

I can't see any reason at all to keep ASBO's, they clearly don't work, it's probably Alan Johnson just trying to feed on peoples fears, but most folk I know, know ASBO's don't work either, they're just another layer to keep the crime figures massaged and looking down and give the appearance that something is being done, when it isn't.
ASBO's were a typical New Labour con, they were worthless, they were ignored by the real thugs and hooligans and were often handed out to people such as Edward Harris - A 76-year-old who suffers from severe arthritis threatened with "anti-social behaviour action" by Bournemouth council for allegedly slamming doors in his house (August 2009)

So, Alan Johnson, you're a liar, the facts speak for themselves.

The truth about immigration: Citizenships granted fall by 35,000 in a year

Contrary to claims that Britain is being 'swamped', the net number of incomers to the country has dropped sharply

Britain's immigration rate is decreasing and we are far from being "swamped", according to an official report presented to the Foreign Office last week. The new figures, obtained by The Independent on Sunday, suggest the Government is starting to get immigration under control. They undermine gloomy warnings of "overcrowding" made by pressure groups and parties including the British National Party.

Applications for British citizenship have also shown a marked decline in recent years, as economic turmoil and government shake-ups have had an impact on the numbers attempting to settle in the UK.

The figures undermine the claims of critics such as the BNP leader Nick Griffin (below), who last week told a BBC Question Time audience that "it's time to shut the door because this country is overcrowded".

The number of foreign nationals entering Britain fell from 460,000 in 2006 to 441,000 in 2008, while, during the same period, the total of foreigners leaving rose from 173,000 to 237,000. The number of citizenship applications granted fell by 35,000, to 130,000, in a single year up to 2008. 

Sounds brilliant, doesn't it? Well it might until you get the calculator out. 441,000 minus 237,000 still leaves  204,000 staying every year. Even if you take the citizenship alone, it's still going up by 130,000 a year. So at worst it will leave 4.75 million at best 2.6 million by 2030. This coupled with a natural increase of 5.6 million leaves 10.35 million (71.3 million in total) or at best 9.2 million (69.2 million in total)

They really do think we're stupid don't they if they think that a population of 69 million is more desirable than 71 million. Plus coupled to the fact that this has been a deliberate Labour policy to encourage mass immigration to the UK to diversify us.
My anger at this current government just grows and grows as the truth behind their diabolical mismanagement and social engineering, what they wanted was a truly multicultural society, what they have ended up with is a more divided Britain than at any time in its history.
