Amateur profiling

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

Certain groups hate profiling if only because it's often used by law enforcement agencies to target specific groups who are statistically more likely to be involved in certain activities. Bit like blacks and knife crime and Asian Muslims and terrorism. It generally makes sense, after all what's the point of going after people who generally aren't remotely involved in such activities. It does run into problems with the politically correct brigades who see it as racist, though sadly for them the stats don't lie.
You can of course play it yourself with certain lists...
Yahoo.
Details of the top 10 most wanted suspected fraudsters in Britain have been released by the crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers.
Peter Stead allegedly conned Derbyshire pub landlords out of thousands of pounds in 2009 and is accused of offering to put on a comedy night to raise money for the Lewis Mighty Fund.
Another on the most wanted list released by Crimestoppers is Nasser Ahmed who police have linked to to an alleged £156m VAT fraud in Bristol.
Timur Mehmet, 38, is wanted in connection with a £25m VAT fraud. Similarly, he absconded before trial and was sentenced in his absence to eight years.
Misba Uddin is wanted by police for fraud by false representation after he allegedly submitted fraudulent mortgage applications while working as a financial adviser.
Meanwhile Ajayi Seun, 48, charged with conspiracy to money launder, is alleged to have conned mortgage lenders and banks out of more than £12m. He has failed to answer bail.
Nicholas Slocombe, 28, is wanted in connection with reports from dozens of shops and businesses about alleged false claims of collecting for charity.
Jascent Nakawunde, a 33-year-old woman, is wanted for questioning in connection with an alleged £35,000 fraud in Cardiff between 2007 and 2008.
Mohamad Khan, from Waltham Cross in north east London, is accused of using counterfeit credit cards to buy more than £100,000 worth of goods.
Kevin Leitch, 48, from Liverpool, who is wanted by Devon and Cornwall Police after he allegedly took bookings for a holiday let in Cornwall.
Finally, an unknown woman is alleged to have falsely obtained a debit card and account details in the name of a legitimate customer from a bank in Bethnal Green, in October 2008.
Now you could be forgiven for thinking that in a list of Britain's top ten fraudsters, six out of the ten don't exactly have British names. Seems even our fraudsters have been hit by foreign immigrants taking all the jobs. Half it would seem have some connection to a certain religion of peace, though perhaps they should be excused as the guy they are supposed to take as an example was a murderer, thief, pirate philanderer with a taste for underage women and other mens wives. Only two are female, sex discrimination in fraud it would seem is rampant in the UK with women seemingly disbarred from the higher levels of scumbags.
Profiling it seems can be fun, even if the bleeding heart socialists hate the very idea as it always tends to show up their pets in the worst possible light.
Which from where I stand makes it all the more fun.

Send an Easter message to your local enemy

Cadbury has an online 'virtual catapult', which sends an Easter Creme Egg soaring through the heavens and, using Google maps, landing anywhere on earth.

Here.

You can target anywhere, the White House, USA, right down to Medway Council Offices...

You can were you of such a mind, target your local Mosque, MP, Labour, Tory, Lib Dem HQ, Mecca, Medina, the presidential Palace Libya, ex school bullies or even ex schools...
I wonder how long before this gets banned?

Still, I could do this all day, it's not getting old yet

Starting them young

This is my granddaughter Freya.

I've been told she's too young to start blogging, but it's looking promising.

On my wish list

One of the disadvantages of growing old is that sooner or (preferably) later you become a bit frail and can't get about so well. That shouldn't however preclude you enjoying yourself...

Mail. (Don't worry it isn't a rant)
It might look like your standard mobility scooter, designed to help the elderly and the infirm do their shopping.
But this particular version has had rather a substantial upgrade.
Plumber Colin Furze, 31, spent nearly three months converting the machine so that it now whizzes along at an incredible 69mph - making it the world's fastest mobility scooter.
It has a powerful 125cc motorbike engine hidden under the seat, five gears and twin exhausts.

Colin Furze tears along a country lane in his mobility scooter. He hopes to one day hit 70mph

The petrol-powered super scooter, which is British racing green, can almost reach the national speed limit and keep up with cars on the motorway.
It does 10 miles to the gallon and is nearly NINE times faster than an average mobility scooter which glides along at just 8mph.
Now at least I know what to do if I ever need such a device, particularly as it's my stated aim to grow old disgracefully. Just need to add a couple of scythes to the wheels and I'd be all set for frightening the shoppers in Asda.

Sloe, sloe quick quick sloe

Diposkan oleh Zainal Arifain

Being an ardent forager has some advantages (and a few pitfalls involving trespass and carrying knives and scissors) but it essentially means I can find something edible growing wild out in the countryside which is free and in abundance. Even nettles if you know what you're doing are quite edible and make a very nice soup, look up the recipes online there are quite a few of them, just wear all over clothing and gloves when picking.
However as August is now midway through my thoughts turn to fruit and what I can add to alcohol. Blackberry picking will probably start at the end of this month and will go into some cheap French brandy to make a very tasty winter warmer, this is the recipe I use, but there are others

450g/1lb blackberries
225g/8oz caster sugar
1 litre/1¾ pint brandy (no need for quality)
You can add a couple of cloves and some cinnamon too, but not strictly necessary

Mash up the blackberries and put them into a jar (parfait type if you can get them cheap) add sugar and brandy, shake every day till the sugar dissolves, then once a week for 2 months. Strain using a muslin filter (or fine nylon) and drink till you fall over, it does mature I'm told, but I've never made enough of it to find out.

However I was lucky the other day to spot these bushes growing near one of my dog walks.

Sloe berries and growing in abundance too, though probably not ready to pick till after the middle of October, still sloe gin here I come, just so happens I'm off to France on a booze cruise middle of next month, so I'll get a few litres of gin on my trip.
Best recipe I've found is here at the cottage smallholders site, there are others.
My good friends also have a plum tree growing in their garden that they'll give me some fruit from, there are also hedgerows full of bullace plums around here too, you can make bullace vodka from it, never tried it yet, but I'm going too.
The problem is of course, buying spirits even abroad is expensive, buying in this country really isn't worth it, besides I am averse to paying anything more in duty to the government than I already do. Anyway buying several litres of gin can get you funny looks from supermarket till people, I haven't been asked for I.D. yet, but it's coming. A thought did occur to me though, it's easy enough to make wine from the fruit, but after that there is the possibility of distillation (probably illegal) still as it would be for home consumption it's worth investigating, (though again the law frowns on this too). All I'd require are a stainless steel pressure cooker, some copper tubing, a drilled cork, plastic bucket some bluetack and a lot of ice and a little bit of time (probably a thermometer too)... just saying.
